My office is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2021-22 academic year. Every year, Senators and Delegates in the Maryland General Assembly have the opportunity to offer these scholarships to their constituents.

New this year: the three District 46 Delegates (Delegates Lewis, Lierman, and Clippinger) have a combined, joint scholarship application! When you complete this application, your application will be submitted to all three Delegates for consideration. The goal is to save you time and make it easier for you to apply for funding from all of your delegates at one time through one application! Our offices will still make our own scholarship awards decisions. You may still receive communication from all three of us about this joint application.

To be eligible for a Legislative Scholarship, you must be enrolled in a Maryland college or university or a private career school, either full or part-time, during the 2021-2022 academic school year. You will find more information about these requirements on the Maryland Higher Education Commission’s webpage

If you are a resident of the 46th District, you may be eligible to apply for a legislative scholarship.

If you do not have access to a computer to complete this form, or if you have any other questions, please contact my office directly at to request a paper copy.

This scholarship application must be filled out completely and submitted with all required documentation by May 1st, 2021. You will receive a decision by June 30th, 2021.

This year, at least one letter of recommendation is required. If you choose to submit letters, the letters should come from teachers, professors or work supervisors, not from family or friends. The letters must also include contact information from the recommender in the space provided.

Please note: I regret that I may not be able to give an award to every applicant due to limited funds, so apply early!

Helping students pay for their education makes me happy. I look forward to helping you if I can!
